ECOPER conducts evaluation research at UN Palace of Nations

ECOPER consultant Aitor Pérez has travelled to the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva as part of the evaluation of UNCTAD’s Subprogramme 1. During the week-long visit, Aitor interviewed several UNCTAD officials, including the Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan, and the directors of a number of UNCTAD divisions. In addition, he had the opportunity to interview G77 and EU delegates and to attend the fifth session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Financing for Development.

Subprogramme 1 on globalisation, interdependence and development is one of five subprogrammes run by UNCTAD. It has five areas of work: Macroeconomics and Development Planning, Development Statistics and Information, Debt and Development Finance, Economic Cooperation and Integration among Developing Countries, and Assistance to the Palestinian People. The evaluation covers the work of Subprogramme 1 for the years 2018-2021 and will take place between March and June of this year. Further information is available in this previous post.
